Who we are

The Advisers

Ian Cope was one of the founder members of the Graeme High Hockey Club in 1987 and served on the committee for a number of years as treasurer. Ian now lives in Bothwell but still has strong connections with the Falkirk area. He has worked as a financial adviser since 1986 and has a wealth of experience within the financial services industry.

His partner Fiona Donaldson has worked as a financial adviser since 1996 and has worked for notable companies such as Alliance & Leicester and First Direct.

Ian and Fiona will be donating a trophy and vouchers to the most promising schoolboy player of the year at the end of the season.

The Company

Tom Ward and Adie Meehan, formerly managers at Britannic Assurance, formed Affinity Financial Planning in July 2001.

Our premises are located in Coatbridge, which provides a central base for our advisers who typically cover from Ayrshire in the West through Glasgow and the Central Belt to Edinburgh and Fife in the East.

We currently have six fully qualified advisers and we aim to increase this number through selective recruitment to twelve.

Our individual background has been very diverse and has included companies such as Prudential, Pearl AMP, Britannic, Friends Provident, First Direct, HSBC, Colonial Mutual, Royal Bank of Scotland, Royal London, RJ Temple and Bradford & Bingley IFA.

Our combined experience places us in a very strong position to take advantage of the constantly changing environment of the Financial Services Market with various advisers having specialist skills across the spectrum.

We are members of the Burns-Anderson Independent Network PLC.

The Network

The Burns-Anderson Independent Network PLC has been trading since 1988. The Network combines the skills and the local service of experienced Independent Financial Advisers with the strength and resources of a national company.

With over 550 advisers operating from 250 locations, it is one of the largest groups of Independent Financial Advisers in the United Kingdom.

Supported by research tools and other professional services, the Network members can provide their clients with the best financial advice.

With over 100 financial institutions offering financial products and plans, finding the best is not an easy task. The Burns-Anderson Independent Network’s Research Software therefore undertakes a full time study of financial products and reviews the performance and other features of hundreds of plans from the best companies. It publishes its results on an electronic network exclusively to its members.
