An excellent save by Duncan Service in goal kept Falkirk in the game as chances to open the scoring went a-begging at the other end, with Stephen Sutton and Douglas Nicol near but not near enough. Pat Forrester opened with a well hit strike from the top of the circle through a confused defence. James Robertson added the second soon after to ensure both league points were out of the students grasp.

This Sunday match was played in a competitive manor and saw Falkirk fight back from trailing by a goal down. Ross Anderson opened in three minutes from a Ross Crerar cross, with a later shot saved by the keeper. Gregor Maxwell made it two from a Jonny Reid cross but the visitors came into the game to put three scores away. Showing they still had some fight left in them, Falkirk fought back, with Gregor Maxwell leveling and Jonny Reid scoring his first goal to ensure their passage to the third round.

Not a game the fifths will want to remember, but only a good performance by Jamie Ballantyne in goal kept the scoreline lower than it would have reached. Billy Brankin had a shot at goal, Jonathan Kellar tried hard but there was little chance of making headway.
