Dundee Wanderers V 1
This third round of the Reserve Plate saw a visit from yet another Dundee side to Bathgate only to be sent home out of the Cup competition. It was a young Dundee side that appeared at Balbardie astro to meet Falkirk VI's Early attacking hockey saw good interpassing with Adrian Lewis, Richard Middleton and Scott Coventry making openings, and Robert Sutton unlucky with penalty corner opportunities. Around the twenty minute mark, pressure paid off and Jonathan Anderson broke the deadlock, with him firing again at the goalkeeper three minutes later only to see his shot rebound of the keeper to a waiting Jonathan Kellar to score. Wanderers pulled one back despite an initial block by Michael Steel in goal.
To put the game beyond doubt, Linlithgow schoolboy Russell Heron showed why he had been selected for the Scottish Schoolboys U-16 team with some silky stick work to score. Undeterred Wanderers harried until the final whistle with two shots at goal in the dying moments of the game.
