Falkirk made little impression on the Edinburgh students who already are looking good for promotion at the end of the season. In this, the first outdoor outing of the second part of the National League Division 2 season, Ally Wilson claimed the solitary consolation score.
Kevin Russell opened the scoring after a mazey run, with David Sharp making it two after a penalty corner award. In the second half, a move involving Sharp, Douglas Smith and Scott Ferguson, saw David Jewell pop in number three, and Stephen Sutton completed the demoralisation of the Edinburgh side just before the final whistle to make it four.
Only goalminding by Robert Thomson, and an off the line clearance by Graeme schoolboy, Stuart Bell, kept the Edinburgh side at bay. Grange were later reduced to ten men after one of their number was shown a Red Card by umpire Service, deputising for the non-appearance of the Grange umpire. Chances were there for both sides, with Iain Cameron and Stuart Macdonald looking the most likely to break the deadlock.

The visitors from Edinburgh opened the scoring but Gregor Maxwell levelled the game after the turn-round. In a game where Falkirk fought to the end, Maxwell netted with three minutes on the clock remaining after Waverley had again taken a lead.
A good two league points for Falkirk after recent disappointments. Jonathan Anderson and Jonathan Keller showed they could be useful up front, with Malcolm Taylor putting in useful challenges at the back, assisted by Ian Cope. The goal that settled the destination of the league points came from Stephen Macdonald who cooly converted a penalty flick awarded after a foot on the line incident.

The youngsters from the Club's lesser XI showed the adults from Fife how to pass the ball about with excellent passing play. However two goals from penalty corners, and a late score settled the game but special mention is due to young Chris Anderson who was useful up front.
