Falkirk started well and should have gone ahead, Michael Watson, Ally Wilson and Arthur Robertson all having near things. Falkirk took the lead after Ally Wilson beat three players to round the keeper. Conceding two goals quickly, Falkirk pushed forward with an Ally Wilson shot stopped illegally Stafford Dickson leveled with the resultant Penalty Flick award before half time. Poor defending brought the Edinburgh side back into the game scoring two, but with a sweeping move, involving John Scott and Michael Watson, Ally Wilson reduced the deficit. Despite hanging on three late goals gave the visitors a greater if nor deserved winning margin.

Falkirk GHG VI 4
The visitors from London, led by former pupil of Graeme High School Robin Kinniburgh, now living in London, were entertained on the Bathgate astro during their three day visit to Scotland. The game was played in a very good spirit and it was some time before Falkirk went in front thanks to James Robertson, with Derek Morrison making it two. Battersea came into the game with a well-worked goal despite the efforts of Alastair Mitchell from Kincardine, making his debut for the Club between the uprights. James Robertson made it three, but Wanderers pulled one back and looked dangerous until Dave Sharp made the game sure with a goal ten minutes from the final whistle.
