In this the last league game of the season and in need of a win to avoid the playoffs, Falkirk started well on the astro at St Margarets', Livingston, with Arthur Robertson setting up the chance of an opener which was not taken up. Falkirk did later open from a long ball from Stafford Dickson, controlled by Michael Watson, before squaring to John Scott who beat the keeper to score. MBC came back in the second half, and scored three, but Falkirk tried hard, with Watson, Scott and Ryan Thomson coming close, but the Aberdeen keeper kept his goal intact.

Falkirk started poorly and were to go in with a goal-less draw at the break. A good solo run by Iain Fraser saw him leave three players trailing in his wake before tucking the ball under the keeper, and then running past him to tap the ball home. Doubling their lead, Scott Morrison went on a mazey run before squaring the ball to Jonathan Anderson to fire home. With ten minutes to go, Neil McFadyen took a hit which James Robertson hit home to seal the game and surely bring the East League Division 1 title to the Club which has been elusive to this team for a number of years.
No scoring in the first half at the Tweedbank astro with Scott Coventry playing well. Ross Connell opened the scoring after a goalmouth scramble, with Ross Crerar adding the second from a Jason park hit in. Derek Morrison was useful in midfield.
This game was goal-less at half time despite the efforts of Billy Brankin, Chris Sim and David Park. The second half saw Falkirk finally break the deadlock with a good goal by Jonathan Anderson. However the Edinburgh hosts rallied and equalised from a Penalty Stoke award. Only the excellent display of goalkeeping by Jamie Ballantine saved their bacon on numerous occasions to ensure their share of the points.
