Waverley Inveresk
IV 1
Falkirk GHG IV 1
The Edinburgh side took the scoring chance from lackluster work at the back. Ben Brewer came close but the game appeared to be heading for a home win despite a Heron and Kellar corner routine which looked promising. It took until the dying minute of the game for a move involving Charles Kemp, Jonathan Kellar, Russell Heron, for Adam Dyer to nudge in the equaliser.
Finding the Bathgate pitch snowbound on Friday night a late phone call saw the game transferred to the grass at Raeburn Place in Edinburgh. After what seemed an eternity the deadlock was finally broken when Jonathan Anderson fired in a good ball, after good work in midfield by Craig Harper. A second came from a shot at goal by David Downham from Mull, with Jonathan Nugent on hand to push the deflection off the keeper into goal. A later attempt with a Penalty Corner award saw David Humphreys spurn this scoring opportunity. Good defending by Graeme Pitcaithly, Russell Somerville and William Simpson, with Robert Thomson in goal pulling off the saves that mattered.
