On the new Astroturf facility at St Peters Primary School in Musselburgh, the Falkirk side faced the top team from the newly merged Edinburgh Club, formed from the two Clubs contained in the name. Douglas Blakeley scored the only goal of the game to ensure three National League Division 3 points returned to Falkirk.

The students from Edinburgh were a challenge for the third string and a solitary goal which eluded Kevin Cumming in goal settled the destination of the points.
It took time for the Falkirk side to settle to the task against an under strength Borders side, with Stephen Macdonald coming closet to opening the scoring. From a solo run, Billy Brankin put Falkirk in front in the 29th minute, with Andrew Woodland adding a second after the break, Ross Connell had a chance for the third with a good hit.

On a leaf covered astro at Dunblane High School chances to open the scoring were Jonathan Nugent, and a strong hit by Robert Sutton which went wide. This young Falkirk side went tin front just before the break thanks to a goal from youngster John Russell and despite all the students could throw at them, determined defending by Barry Warner, Paul Doyle and Stuart Bell, aided by a crucial clearance by Robert Thomson between the sticks denied Stirling the equaliser.

This game started with the Edinburgh side pushing all the time and within 10 minutes their pressure paid off with a well-taken goal, ten minutes further on they got their second. Falkirk fought back, and through some good interpassing of the ball got a goal back through Chris Anderson, which was finished off by Russell Brown. The very young side from Falkirk fought back all the time and showed the adults from Watson's that they are a team to watch in the future with six of the players under 14 and the rest under 16. Chris Taylor in goals saved a penalty flick, which inspired the youngsters to produce some excellent hockey. Try as they might Falkirk could not stop Watsonians score their third goal. In all it was an excellent display of hockey from Gordon Anderson, Alex MacFadyen, Andrew Stevenson, Stewart Laing, Stuart Gemmill, Chris Thompson and Calum Waterson.
