Waverley Inveresk 2
Falkirk's opponents started the game with only 10 players, but were not taken for granted, bearing in mind what had happened a couple of weeks ago at Clydebank. Good play from the local side was rewarded by 2 goals from Arthur Robertson, the second from a superb take on the run and cross from Kevin Russell. By the time Waverley reinforcements arrived, Iain Fraser had added a third, and Robertson completed his hat trick shortly after with a reverse stick flick from a seemingly impossible angle following a penalty corner. Michael Watson completed the first half scoring with a tap in from a Blakeley cross. Falkirk increased their lead after the break, Dougie Blakeley scoring the 6th with another tap in. Despite missing a series of chances, including a penalty, the 7th arrived after a Calum Taylor pass into the circle, with Watson scoring his second at the second attempt. The last 10 minutes saw the local side ease off, and this gave Waverley 2 consolation goals, taking the shine off an otherwise good performance.

This defeat by the Edinburgh side who are also in contention for promotion will not help Falkirk's chances of getting out of this division. Neil McFadyen scored from a short corner. Iain Fraser had the chance to level from a Penalty Flick award but failed to find the net.

With their Captain, goalkeeper and several regular players on a holiday, it was heartening to see the replacements from down the Club help the team to a good win, and two league points. The hosts opened but Andrew Woodland beveled. Jonathan Anderson broke the deadlock from a corner award and Andrew Woodland again reached the scoresheet to separate the teams. Chris Taylor was unlucky in goal as the hosts claimed a second.

A ten man Falkirk side with Charles Kemp deputising between the uprights, found the Edinburgh side something of a challenge. Ben Brewer showed some nice touches in midfield, while Clark Whitton scored the solitary consolation goal.

In this game that so nearly did
not take place due to the lack of fifth team players, it was a credit to the
call-ups from the Club's two bottom teams who so nearly snatched a point from
the encounter. Good attacking hockey saw Russell Brown and Roddy Dow looking
dangerous. Jonathan Anderson scored the goal with Jonathan Nugent unlucky
not to level the game.
