Despite starting well, with Arthur Robertson and Douglas Blakeley preparing for Douglas Nicol's opening goal of the game, this last National League Division 3 outdoor game before the break for the indoor season saw the Falkirk side lose four goals in the space of eight minutes. Chances to reduce the deficit were there for Michael Watson and Ally Wilson.

Despite their absent team captain, sufficient players were found to not only play the game, but secure two league points, from two goals by Gregor Maxwell. Thanks to Russell Sommerville and David Humphreys who came up from the 5ths, and Chris Taylor from the 7ths to eke out the depleted numbers.

Alistair Mitchell, taking a break from goalkeeping duties, had probably the team's best chance to break the deadlock. As the game went on, Falkirk pushed forward but Douglas Smith in defence single-handedly broke up the Edinburgh side's breakaways to keep the scoresheet clear.

The very young Falkirk side could not contain the eager Dunfermline youngsters. Young Iain Webster in goal pulled off some spectacular saves to prevent the scoresheet going higher.
