The Falkirk side shocked their Edinburgh hosts by taking a three goal lead over their single score. Jonathan Nugent began his hat trick in the third minute firing in a ball from Scott Coventry. William Simpson and Clark Whitton set him up for the second, but a fast break saw him elude the defence to shoot the ball into goal past an advancing keeper who then kicked him up in the air. Watsonians settled and gradually clawed their way back into the game, but undeterred, Russell Sommerville tried a reverse stick flick, Ally Mitchell had a shot, and David Humphreys forced a corner award. This was a comeback game for Liam Malloy who did well after a few years away from the sport.
