This East League Division One tie at Leith Academy saw good play by Kevin Cummings between the uprights. Sound performances by Kenneth Laird, Scott Coventry, Ross Crerar and Joe Trodden helped the team effort where David Wood scored after a penalty corner award, and following a run from the halfway line, Captain Gregor Maxwell sealed the game.
The visitors from Galashiels very nearly had something to take home from this game on the Bathgate Astro. However scores from Mark Stewart, Michael Watson and Iain Cameron were more than their best efforts could match.
With only ten players, Falkirk did their best. Andrew Woodland equalised, but a spurious late corner award broke the deadlock to give the Edinburgh side both league points.

The Fifers opened the scoring but Jonathan Anderson ran up the park to equalise. Again the Dunfermline hosts went ahead but Craig Harper set up Anderson for his second. With Graeme High schoolboys Alan Jenkins and Chris Morton having their first games for the Club, and playing well, it was another Fife score which sealed the game despite the best efforts of Alastair Mitchell in goal.

Falkirk GHG VII 2
Falkirk opened the scoring within the first 15 minutes through a goal from Gregor Maxwell. Erskines replied with three goals before half-time mostly through defensive errors. Erskines started the second-half with another three goals but it was Falkirk that got the final goal through Maxwell 5 minutes before the end. Alex MacFadyen playing for the 7th XI showed that being eleven does not mean he cannot play adult hockey, with some excellent hockey that even had the opposition cheering when he beat their players, Chris Thompson and Gordon Anderson also showed that they might be small but they can stand up to the bigger adults, an excellent game played by all the juniors in the 7th XI.
