Falkirk's promotion hopes were extinguished after they returned from Aberdeen with no points on Saturday. After going behind to a disputed corner award, Falkirk led a half time after goals from Dougie Blakeley and Calum Taylor, and should have put the game beyond Aberdeen but for a string of missed chances. A change of umpire at half time brought about a change in fortune for the local side after the break, as they lost 2 goals in quick succession, both from penalty corner awards. In pushing forward to try and retrieve something from the game, Falkirk were caught out with a 4th goal for the home side, and despite attacking until the final whistle, were unable to claw anything back.

Jonathan Keller scored from
a short corner award after help from Charles Kemp. Barry Warner netted from
a Penalty Flick award after the ball was stopped by a foot on the line. However
a combination of poor finishing and bad defending cost them the game as the
visitors from Edinburgh went on to take the league points home with them.
Grange VII 1
Falkirk GHG VII 1
This game was played on the grass
at Raeburn place in Stockbridge where the home thought they would have the
advantage against a team with 4 players under 14. It turned out to be a completely
different story with the young Falkirk side taking the game to the veterans
from Grange. Falkirk took most of the pressure in this game to the Grange
goal area and kept pounding away for most of the game, but against the run
of play Grange opened the scoring putting the ball past the outstretched hands
of Taylor in goals. Falkirk replied with a well taken goal from Russell Brown,
and 1-1 it was at half-time. Both teams came out in the second-half, bombarding
both sets of goals but both keepers held firm. Young Gordon Anderson in defence
was outstanding showing the older players how to play on grass and Andrew
Stevenson, Stewart Laing and Christopher Thompson also showed that they were
no slouches playing. In all it was an excellent game since the 7th XI have
not lost a game since the turn of the year, excellent progress for the youngsters.
