James Robertson opened the scoring in the tenth minute when he put a short corner award away. It was not until about midway through the second half before a good move involving Gregor Maxwell, Derek Morrison and James Robertson saw Ross Crerar make the score two. Good work in goals by Kevin Cummings and a bruising back line of William Simpson, David Sharp and Jason Park kept the Edinburgh side form reaching the scoresheet.

Waverley Inveresk III 1
Mark Stewart had the first chance to open the scoring in the 17th minute but it was the visitors from Edinburgh who did score what was to be the only goal of the game after what was to prove a costly foul-up in the defence. Despite having a goodly number of short corners awarded to them. Falkirk could just not get it together to equalise, and even some surging runs up the pitch by Jonathan Anderson, John Russell and Johnathan Nugent could not level the game. Dougie Smith also had a chance of the equaliser but it was not to be so.

Univ II 2
Falkirk GHG V 1
Falkirk were strong at the start of this game at the Saughton enclosure with good interplay between Ross Connell and Arthur Robertson, but the hosts opened the scoring. In the second half, Craig Malcolm was outstanding in goal and although the University scored again, Falkirk fought until a free hit by Arthur Robertson caught a deflection off Johnathan Nugent's stick which the keeper just saved. David Humphreys hit it at the keeper and the deflection fell to Nugent to poke it in. At the back, Malcolm Taylor Simon Tennant, and Adam Dyer toiled hard to prevent further scoring, and Graeme High schoolboy Alan Jenkins was not put off by the sturdier opposition.
