The home side started strongly, pinning Falkirk back deep into their own half. Despite several penalty corners, the Falkirk defence held firm. Mid way through the half, Douglas Nicol intercepted the ball and raced forward to feed Derek Morrison who calmly slotted the ball beneath the keeper. The second half started with more pressure from the University side, and they scored twice in five minutes to take the lead. Increased pressure from Falkirk saw them awarded a penalty stroke for a deliberate foul and David Jewell calmly slotted home the equaliser. Falkirk continued to defend well with David Sharp making a fine clearance from a penalty corner. Glasgow went on to score two goals in the last ten minutes of the game to secure their victory in this Regional league match.

The scoreline at Rosyth was like a game of Ping-Pong. Danny Gibney netted first from a corner award after ten minutes, but the hosts soon levelled. Gibney again put Falkirk ahead after a good move by Jonathan Reid. The host team restored the balance from a penalty flick award, until Jonny Reid netted from a penalty corner with a pass from Derek Morrison. While the Fifers went on again to level, Ross Crerar again put Falkirk ahead with a good strike from a corner award. Ross Connell increased the lead after a dummy from Jonny Reid saw Connell sweep the ball into goal. Special mention of the work of Joe Trodden, Scott Coventry and Callum Taylor in their part in this league win.

Two beautifully -taken short corners by William Simpson were what were needed to ensure the points from this league encounter came back to Falkirk. Simpson had opened the scoring with his first of the game before a penalty flick was awarded to Carnegie, which they managed to put away despite the best efforts of Jamie Ballantine in goal. Iain Cameron was unlucky with his shot at goal, as was Barry Warner whose shot was saved by the keeper. Gregor Maxwell was also unlucky not to reach the scoresheet when his late shot at goal was wide of target,

Waverley Inveresk III 4
The Falkirk side thought they had dominated the first half in this East League Division two encounter at Bathgate but were to find themselves a goal down at the interval. Waverley scored from a breakaway in the second half, but Falkirk did not give up and Malcolm Taylor was outstanding in midfield and in defence, helped by a sturdy performance by Simon Tennant, Alan Jenkins, and Scott Usher. However, their best efforts did not prevent the visitors from snatching a third to secure their league points from the game.

This game was played in the true aspect of youth hockey with one or two adults to help. Carnegie opened the scoring but Falkirk replied with a well taken penalty corner routine that was finished off with a well struck shot from John Galloway which screamed in at the near corner beating the visitors keeper. The second half Carnegie stepped up a gear as well as Falkirk and although the visitors scored two, Falkirk had several cleared off the line. In the final three minutes nine year old Andrew Malcolm almost scored his first goal for the adults but it screamed past the post. This was a good game and Carnegie levelled the score for the season with one game each.
