Falkirk
GHG III 1
Inverleith 'A' 2
This Sunday re-arranged league game did not bring out the best of play from the Falkirk side, who could so easily have tied the game up to a satisfactory conclusion. Falkirk's first chance to open came from the stick of James Robertson in the seventh minute, followed by David Sharp feeding Derek Morrison, but this was saved by the Edinburgh keeper. Iain Fraser did the work before James Robertson opened the scoring from a penalty corner award, only to see the visitors draw level after some painfully slack defending. Good interpassing between Iain Fraser and Callum Taylor looked good but regrettably came to nothing. Inverleith went forward from the half time whistle to take the lead before twenty seconds had been clocked, and although Falkirk had numerous penalty corners awarded to them, the goal to restore the balance was never to be found, and only two good clearances by Stephen Smith, the first off the line at a corner award, kept the visitors from going further ahead.
