Sheilds Tournament

Falkirk Hockey Club lifted the trophy as the recent Shields Hockey Club S.O.S. (Sense over Sectarianism) Tournament in Glasgow. The hosts, Clydesdale HC and Glasgow Accies HC, were the other clubs taking part. Chris Anderson scored the only goal of the opening game against Clydesdale. Falkirk then took on Shields and won 2-1, Jonny Anderson and Derek Morrison the scorers. Next Falkirk took on a weaker Shields young XI and a David Sharp hat-trick was added to by Willie Simpson and Derek Morrison in a 5-0 win. The final match was against Glasgow Accies with Chris Anderson's strike earning Falkirk the draw which was enough to take the tournament.
