Falkirk's opening game in this season's indoor league got off to a terrible start in Dundee, Clydesdale taking advantage of some poor play as the local side adjusted to the indoor game, opening up a 4 goal lead. A goal from Michael Watson in the last minutes of the half, moments after having an effort disallowed, was the only reward for Falkirk. This did give the local side some hope, and a much more accomplished 2nd half performance saw them eat into the Clydesdale lead. Goals from Stafford Dickson, Iain Fraser, Douglas Nicol and Chris Anderson saw them take the lead for the first time, and although Falkirk should have been further ahead, a number of chances were squandered. In the last minute of the game, Clydesdale managed to sneak a goal form a penalty corner that meant this tale of two half's ended in a draw.

Having lost one of their number due to the late start of this match, it was an under-strength Falkirk side that took on newly relegated Inverleith. However, with Stafford Dickson getting the tactics spot on, it was the local side that held a surprising 2-0 lead at half time, courtesy of goals from Douglas Nicol and Iain Fraser. Losing another player to the time delay at half time meant that it was a bare bones team that took the field for the second half, and Inverleith took advantage, scoring 5 times in the space of 8 minutes. Two more goals put the game beyond Falkirk and meant Chris Anderson's score late on was little more than consolation for a solid performance against the league favourites.

The Edinburgh hosts opened the scoring in the first minute from a penalty flick, adding a second quickly at the beginning of the second half. David Jewell netted from a short corner award, but the score to equalise was to prove elusive.
Iain Cameron opened the scoring against a strong Galashiels side from a penalty stroke, awarded when Adrian Lewis was pushed in the back whilst in a shooting position, and they hung onto this slender lead into the second half when Reivers levelled. However with ten minutes to go, a breakaway goal saw John Russell run up the park, pass the ball to Johnathan Nugent who set up Iain Cameron for the winning goal. A good gutsy performance from the fours against a strong opposition.
This was the first league win of the season for the fifths who have been struggling to find their rhythm and also a team. In a tousy game, which was characterised by the whining of the Fifers, it was a good thing that Robert Sutton, back as sweeper after his umpiring duties in the regional league, was in top form. Chances were there for both sides, with Ben Brewer playing some inspiring hockey in the midfield. Stuart Gardner on his return again showed some of his past mettle. Danny Gibney scored the goal that mattered and had chances after that.

This game went from end to end early on, but it was Falkirk that broke the deadlock from a through ball from Calum Taylor which deflected off David Humphrey's stick in the goal area into the top of the net to Inverleiths dismay. Falkirk kept up the pressure with a well worked passing game, which resulted in Jonny Anderson hitting the ball from the top of the goal area under the visitors outstretched keeper. The second half started where Falkirk left off and Anderson again beat the Edinburgh teams keeper with another well taken shot. Inverleith then woke up and rearranged their attacking format and got penalty corner after penalty corner and eventually one paid off. They kept up the bombardment of the Falkirk goal and got their second. Falkirk then went into defensive mode and kept Inverleith at bay with good defending, another excellent victory for the young Falkirk team who are on a roll at the present moment.
