This rearranged Sunday league game on the Bathgate Astroturf saw the second string manage to hold out the Edinburgh side, despite their Saturday night excesses, and despite quickly starting the game a goal down. Joe Trodden was in place at the far post to slot the ball home at a penalty corner award from which Falkirk equalised, and that was how the teams turned round at half time. Again Watsonians went ahead soon after the restart, after a mix-up in the box, but David Sharp was not long in sending the ball to Gregor Maxwell who then nutmeged the keeper to slot the ball away for the second goal. William Simpson set up the ball to David Jewell for the third goal, and then to tie up the game, Ross Connell beat the Edinburgh keeper, and saw his shot heading into goal. However this ecstasy turned to agony as he saw Jonny Reid nip in and totally stole his goal on the goal-line with a tap in.
