This rearranged league game saw the fours make the Sunday trip to the Borders for what is always something of a lottery on the grass surface. This day however the grass was in better condition that has been experienced and a reasonable game was had in the event. Both sides had chances in the first fifteen minutes with both having short corner scoring opportunities. Iain Forbes forced a corner but this couldn't be turned into a score. Falkirk went ahead in the seventeenth minute when Johnathan Nugent was cruelly fouled on the goal line as he lined up to shoot at goal, and he then expertly put away the resultant penalty flick for the opener. Craig Callahan in midfield put some good balls forward for the forwards to chase. Six minutes into the second half, the hosts levelled after a scramble in front of Chris Taylor's goal, but in the 13th minute Malcolm Taylor hit the ball into the circle for Scott Usher to restore Falkirk's lead. Nugent had several excellent solo runs, and with Jamie Ballantine and Alan Jenkins in midfield looking good, the chances were there, with Ballantine unlucky at the far post at a short corner scoring opportunity. Six minutes from the end, with the keeper on the ground, Peebles managed to equalise when the ball became loose and an unmarked player at the far post poked the ball in. Failure to control the ball at late short corners was to cost Falkirk and to give the hosts a share of the league points.
