For this Sunday Cup game, Falkirk began well playing a tight game for the first half hour. An injury to Derek Morrison and a change of umpire heralded a change, and saw Falkirk trailing by a goal after a deflected shot hit the net, conceding a second in similar vein. Falkirk went up the park with Johnathan Nugent, Gregor Maxwell and Ross Crerar doing the work for a waiting Ross Connell at the far post to poke the ball in. Scott Coventry cleared the university's penalty corner award off the line, unfortunately with his foot, and they converted the resultant penalty flick award to make their trip south quite worthwhile.
