Glasgow Eastbank 5
Falkirk GHG 3
Falkirk travelled to Glasgow in the quarter finals of the Scottish cup against a team a division above them. Despite starting poorly and going 4-0 down by the start of the second half, the Falkirk side never gave up and were rewarded after Davie Ferguson picked up the ball in the centre of midfield before driving through two defenders and passing to Chris Anderson to fire past the Glasgow Keeper. This only served to motivate the Falkirk side who scored again shortly after when Ian Fraser found himself unmarked at the back post. With the score now 4-2, the home side were beginning to lose discipline and found themselves temporarily down to 9 men. Falkirk continued to press from the back and got a third when Gordon Anderson's miss hit shot fooled everyone, including the keeper, and ended up in the net. Sensing a remarkable comeback, Falkirk continued to press forward but that left them short at the back and the home side sealed the win with a goal in the last minute. A good team performance saw Falkirk almost securing a shock result and a place in the semi finals.
