Falkirk's second visit to St. Georges in as many weeks to take on Grange began badly as the home clubs 3rd string team displayed clinical passing to cut their way into the Falkirk penalty area, and constant movement saw a free man finish from two yards after two minutes. This was the story of the first half, some of the Falkirk side simply didn't look like they were focused on the game they were taking part in, passes going astray & weak tackling let the home side reach half time 5 goals up for no reply. The second half began with Grange scoring number 6 early on, which seemed to kick start Falkirk into life. More determination and a will to get stuck in saw Falkirk pressure result in a number of short corners, one of which was thumped net bound by Derek Morrison for Falkirk's only goal of the game. Numerous good blocks by keeper Kevin Cummings and stout defending by the Falkirk back line and continual harassment by the midfield kept Grange out for the remainder of the game. If only Falkirk had began the game with as much heart as they finished it. However a lack of verbal discipline may reduce the number of umpires from within the club willing to accept the captains' request to volunteer in future games.
It took until the 13th minute on a wet, drizzly Linlithgow Academy pitch, when a Chris Dyer ball found Danny Gibney up front, but his shot at goal seeking the opener was saved. John Russell then came close after a corner award, but it was the 30th minute when a Scott McNeill long corner hit in was picked up and sent into the net by Jonathan Anderson. The second half began with Stephen Macdonald hitting a good ball in from the left to Danny Gibney, but no scoring was forthcoming. Grange forced a penalty corner but also were unlucky, and later there were good saves at crucial moments by Douglas Smith and David Craig. Jonny Anderson went off on a solo effort but he also initially could not find the net, and Iain Cameron was on his own when he received the ball but his chance to score went wide. Anderson and Cameron had another chance but to no avail. Fourteen minutes into the second half, Anderson made it two with a firm strike from the top of the circle, but though Grange pulled themselves into the game from a penalty flick award, Anderson put the game out of doubt from a good long ball from John Russell, while Cameron had once again a chance of his own to add to the tally.

Stirling Wanderers 3
Unfortunately this was a game that was a tad bad tempered, when it should have not have been. Stirling opened the scoring through a penalty flick, Falkirk replied against the run of play, up the left wing, with a through ball from Ross Drummond to Jonny Anderson who slipped it past the visitors keeper. Stirling started the second half with a well struck penalty corner to go 2-1 ahead. Falkirk again equalised through Anderson to draw level. Stirling then stepped up the pressure and with their skills eventually got the winner. On this skill level Stirling should win the league as they are starting again with a team that has played at a higher level and it is unfortunate that the have to start at the bottom.
