Falkirk GHG 4
Dundee Wanderers 18
Games between these two have tended to be close affairs over the last few years, but not on this occasion, where he difference between the sides was Niall Stott. The GB Olympian and his younger brother were surprisingly left out of the Wanderers top squad, and Falkirk were unlucky enough to face them. Wanderers took complete control of the match and raced into a 6 goal lead, before Gordon Anderson netted his first ever indoor goal to take the local side off the mark. With Stott being rested at the start of the second half, Falkirk threatened to get back into the game as goals from Douglas Nicol and Ally Wilson (2) brought the score to 7-4. The reintroduction of Stott saw Falkirk hopes of a comeback vanish, as he led Wanderers on a scoring rampage that, despite a number of blocks from Robert Thomson, Falkirk were unable to stem. Despite apologies from the Dundee sides management, with Niall Stott notching a triple hat-trick, he proved what a difference an individual can make in this league.

MIM 12
A bad day for Falkirk all round, as MIM tempted former Scottish internationalist Andrew Kay back into competitive hockey. For the second game in a row, a lot of time was spent ducking at penalty corners as Kay peppered the Falkirk goal with shots at one end, and kept Ally Wilson on a very tight leash at the other, as Falkirk struggled to make an impression on the league favourites. Goals were traded for much of the first half, but despite strikes from Douglas Nicol, Chris Anderson and Ally Wilson (2), MIM gradually pulled further ahead. Tiredness crept into Falkirk's play in the second half, and this gave MIM room to exploit mistakes that the local side made, and run out comfortable winners.
