Falkirk GHG 1
Quasar 3

With the withdrawal of two teams from division 2 for next year, the threat of relegation was lifted from Falkirk as it was confirmed that there would be no teams dropping out of division 3 this season. However, there is still all to play for at the top of the league, and second placed Quasar came to Linlithgow expecting 3 points to help their title push. From the start, Falkirk took the game to their opponents and dominated the first half. Gordon Anderson forced a good save from the keeper with a penalty corner flick, and Douglas Nicol had a decent opportunity but shot wide. Falkirk were stunned when Quasar took the lead from a corner, despite the best efforts of Stafford Dickson blocking the first shot, and Robert Thomson saving the rebound, before the third shot was forced home. Michael Watson had a chance to level just before half time, but his flick hit the keepers chest before being cleared. Falkirk got off to a flier at the start of the second half, equalising after 2 minutes. Strong play from Nicol in the Quasar box found Iain Fraser in front of goal, and his reverse stick shot went under the diving keeper. Unfortunately, this was as close as Falkirk were to come to getting a result, as gradually Quasar got more and more of the game. Quasar took the lead from a penalty corner flick, midway through the second half, and with Falkirk running out of ideas and making more mistakes, the killer third goal arrived on the break to seal the points for the visitors.
