On a cold and frosty Saturday morning, the Falkirk Mens’ team were without a league fixture and Braes High pupils Stuart McNeill willingly arranged his schoolfriends to play them, introducing Lewis McCalley and Robert Thomson to competitive hockey. David Humphreys scored the goal for the adult team, while Ross Dickson put a good cross into the circle where Mark Slater crisply despatched it into the net. to level the game. Try as each side did, there was no further scoring, but the hardy spectators watching, including two PE teachers from the Braes, saw some excellent hockey being played, especially from S1 pupil Andrew Malcolm.
