Falkirk suffered a heavy defeat in Aberdeen, although the difference between the two sides was not as great as the scoreline suggests. The visitors struggled to make an impact on the Aberdeen defence, and lost a goal in the first half to a penalty corner. Douglas Nicol almost equalised from a Falkirk corner, but his effort was cleared off the line. Falkirk chased the game in the second half, but were unable to impose themselves and on a very bouncy pitch, Aberdeen made the most of their home advantage. Falkirk lost 3 goals on the break as their hosts took advantage of the exposed visiting defence.
