The Falkirk side hosted Stirling at the Bathgate pitch for what is usually a hard fought encounter with the students, the opening 20 minutes were hotly contested with good stick work and plenty of determination from the Falkirk side, the late arrival of Chris Brodie was what the 4ths needed to apply that little bit of extra pressure up front scoring 2 goals within 3 minutes of each other, (21 and 26 mins in). These 2 goals saw the Falkirk boys lusting for more and Dave Sharp calmly slotted the 3rd goal in after 29 mins. 3 - 0 down at half time the students kept trying toplay some nice passing hockey but the 4ths midfield were giving nothing away. Dave Sharp opened the scoring in 5 mins of the restart and then the floodgates opened with unrelenting pressure goals from Paul Paton in 7, Brodie for his hat trick in the 14th min Derry Barton at 15 young Luke McPhee in the 18th again Dave Sharp for his hattrick in 21 and finally Craig Harper in 23 minutes concluded the scoring. The whole team had an excellent performance with Ross Dickson very unfortunate to find the net on at least 2 occasions, a truly inspired fourth eleven showing what they are capable of on a given day a good well deserved win and solid team performance.
