Perthshire 0
Falkirk GHG 7

With Perthshire fielding their strongest side of the season, it looked like being a close game especially as the home side took the initiative from the start, and only a good block from Dickson prevented Thomson being tested from a penalty corner. Falkirk had struggled to find their rhythm, but opened the scoring with an exceptional strike that wouldn't have been out of place on an international pitch. Douglas Nicol received the ball on the edge of the box, and turned towards the goalline, before unleashing an unstoppable reverse stick shot over the head of the Perthshire keeper into the roof of the net. Falkirk quickly doubled their lead with Nicol grabbing his second from close range, and as their attacking game clicked into gear, secured the points with another contender for goal of the season. Chris Anderson picked up the ball just outside his own box, and set off on a 60 yard run, past a series of challenges, before drawing the keeper and unselfishly finding Craig Strachan ghosting in at the back post to score from a yard. Anderson completed the first half scoring with his first of the season, deflecting in Watson's shot at a penalty corner. The visitors kept the scoreboard ticking over in the second half, with Strachan grabbing his second with a composed finish from a penalty corner, and Anderson scored his second and Falkirk's sixth with a strike from the edge of the box. Despite the scoreline, Perthshire kept the Falkirk defence on their toes, but the visitors were determined to keep a clean sheet, and prevented the home side gaining any consolation. Falkirk's final goal arrived on the stroke of full-time, as from another corner Strachan was denied his hat-trick by a good save from the home keeper, but Dickson was on hand to slam the rebound high into the net.
