Falkirk GHG 3
Waverley Inveresk Trinity 1

Falkirk claimed a vital 3 points in their battle to beat the drop with a well deserved victory over a Waverley side pushing for second place in the league. Waverley dominated the early stages of the match, pinning Falkirk into their own half, but were unable to breach the Falkirk defence. Just as Falkirk started to work their way back into the game, Waverley opened the scoring with a scrappy goal from close range, but Falkirk were quickly back on level terms when Michael Watson converted their second penalty corner, moments after a double save from the Waverley keeper had denied Dickson and Nicol at the first. A couple of fine saves from Thomson kept Falkirk on level terms, and they just about grabbed a half time lead from a Chris Anderson deflection. Falkirk made a better start to the second half, and took the lead when Dickson slammed home a penalty corner switch, and although Waverley still had the majority of possession, they were failing to create any clear chances as the home defence protected Thomson's goal. The home side extended their lead when James Moran's cross found Watson at the back post, and he rounded the keeper before flicking home for his second of the match. Waverley threw more and more bodies into attack as they tried to salvage the game, but they were unable to find a way past the Falkirk back 4, and left themselves susceptible to quick breaks, that would have resulted in a greater scoreline had it not been for poor choices made in the final third.
