It was a watershed moment in the history of Falkirk Hockey Club as Niall Stott lined up for the first time in their ranks, the GB Olympian providing a tidy boost to their promotion hopes. Falkirk lost an early goal, but were quickly into their stride with doubles from coaches Craig Strachan and Niall Stott in a 4 minute spell giving them a solid lead. Iain Fraser completed Falkirk's first half scoring in 9 minutes, as Falkirk failed to score in the remainder of the half. Goals either side of half time briefly brought East Kilbride within touching distance as, but Strachan and Stott completed their hat-tricks to make the points safe. A late consolation was cancelled out in the final minute by another goal from Strachan, as Falkirk notched up their third win of the season. Craig 4, Niall 3, Iain 1

It finally all came together for Falkirk as Robert Thomson was able to claim his first indoor clean sheet in over 100 appearances for the club. In what was a vastly improved performance since the earlier victory over East Kilbride, the disciplined defence and clinical attack left Greenock with very little to work with. Goals from Craig Strachan and Iain Fraser gave Falkirk a narrow half time lead, but a second half hat-trick from Strachan and further scores from Fraser, Stafford Dickson and Arthur Robertson saw Falkirk run out comfortable winners.
